Sermon on the Shore
I went to the church of the ocean
Sat quietly in my lounge chair pew
Listening to the sermon of sounds
Of light
Watching the eternal renew
The pelicans drifted on fragrance
The sea gulls tested the sky
And as the waves kept on searching the seashore
For just a few moments I quit asking why
For just a little moment, I knew the question why
