There are so many things going on
in this present moment
Then those things disappear
but the present moment does not
The present moment is our taste of the eternal
Every leaf that quakes in the wind
Every bird that flaps its wings and flies
Every ray of light
It rests in the here and now
Why do we seem to constantly miss it?
Why are we so distracted
That we miss eternity in our midst?
Why are we dwelling in the past?
Why are we consumed with the future
A future we may not have?
It is in this moment that we are eternal
It is in this moment that the eternal embraces us
If we simply sit still to breathe
